RACING INFORMATION

14/15 Racing Information

Perfect North Slopes offers a variety of training and practice opportunities for racers of all aspirations and abilities.  If you are interested in becoming a racer, aspire to improve your skills through the gates, or just want to participate occasionally in a downhill race, then we have races and lesson programs to fit your needs.  Racing and gate instruction usually occurs on Intermission, which on occasion may be closed to the public for exclusive race participant use; please check our News and Snow Report for updates of the status of Intermission.

Continuing from last season: All race programs include a NASTAR season pass!

Cost of races or race instruction does not include lift ticket or equipment. Racers must be at least 7 years old, able to ride chairlift by themselves and ski intermediate terrain confidently and competently. There are no makeup classes, and training does occur on holidays. Participants must have a racing waiver on file each season, which can be downloaded here.

Advanced Race Programs

1 program $200, each addition $150

There are three Advanced Race Programs, each starting the first week of January and running for 8 weeks on their respective nights from 6:30pm to 8:30pm: the Technical Program on Mondays, the Slalom Program on Tuesdays, and the Giant Slalom Program on Wednesdays. These programs target the higher level racer who wants to become more proficient in racing, maybe even moving from recreational to competitive.  Racers will benefit from the training, techniques, and discipline an organized race program provides.  Training emphasis will be on having fun, and improving fundamental racing skills. All training will also provide a solid basis for those skiers only wishing to race NASTAR.

The Technical Program on Mondays is the next step for those that have participated in either the Youth Race Program or the Adult Race Program or for those advanced racers that would like to take their recreational racing to the next level.  All of the focus will be on free drills and no gates.  If you were to choose only one Advanced Program, this is recommended, especially before fine-tuning your slalom or GS skills in the other programs.

The Slalom Program on Tuesdays and the GS Program on Wednesdays targets those who want to increase proficiency on a slalom or GS course, respectively. These programs focus on technical drills during the first hour and gate technique during the second hour.

When: 6:30pm to 8:30pm beginning the first week of January, 2015
Ages:  7 and older
Skill: Advanced
