Lesson Programs

Make the most of your season with Perfect North Slope’s season-long lesson programs!

Lesson programs are designed to help you and your family embrace skiing and snowboarding for a lifetime of healthy fun. Our professional instructors are highly trained in helping children excel in snow sports. In this progressive lesson program, your child will build the fundamental skill set that will help them master the slopes and take their skiing and boarding skills to the next level.

There are opportunities for all ages and skill levels. 

The lesson programs are add-ons to season passes and lift tickets. They do not include hill access or rental equipment. 

Registration for the 2024/2025 Season will be available at the end of September 2024

Registration for children’s programs requires pre-registration information. Please use the Profile Manager to make sure all information for your child is correct. This must be updated before you can purchase any of the children’s programming.

Adults wanting to participate in the Women’s and Race programs will also need to make themselves a participant in the profile manager.

Ski Programs

4-6 year old Doodles Ski Program (6 Consecutive Weeks)
The Doodles 4-6 year old ski program is Available for children of beginner to intermediate skill levels.
The focus of Doodles is building the fundamental snow sports skill set for beginner through intermediate level skiers and boarders.
This 1-hour class is designed for kids who want to establish/improve their general skiing/snowboard ability, safely push their limits and most of all have fun! 
 
1-Hour Session Times:
  • Sundays: 9:30 AM | 1:30 PM (January 5-February 9)
  • Mondays: 5:30 PM (January 6-February 10)
  • Tuesdays: 9:30 AM | 12:30 PM | 5:30 PM (January 7-February 11)
  • Wednesdays: 5:30 PM (January 8-February 12)
  • Thursdays: 9:30 AM | 12:30 PM | 5:30 PM (January 9-February 13)

Women’s Ski/Ride Program (3 Consecutive Weeks)
New for the 2024/2025 Season!

Beginner to advanced skier/boarders interested in building confidence on the snow. The Women’s Ski and Board program will be taught by female instructors in a supportive group setting.

This 90-minute program is formatted to help you achieve your on-snow goals and build community while having fun in the process.

90-Minute Session Times:

  • January 8 – 22, 2025:
    • Wednesdays: 9:30 AM (Beginning Skiing/Riding Program)
    • Wednesdays: 12:00 PM (Intermediate-Advanced Skiing/Riding Program)
  • February 5 – 19, 2025:
    • Wednesdays: 9:30 AM (Beginning Skiing/Riding Program)
    • Wednesdays: 12:00 PM (Intermediate-Advanced Skiing/Riding Program)
Teen Ski Program (4 Consecutive Weeks)

Freestyle/Terrain Park Programs

Freestyle/Terrain Park Program (3 Consecutive Weeks)
Available for children ages of 8+, who are intermediate to advanced skiers/riders and can comfortably make controlled turns down blue/intermediate terrain without stopping. The Freestyle/Terrain Park program is the perfect for kids interested in establishing or improving their terrain park/freestyle skills.
 
During this program, the kids will spend a portion of the lesson each week working on their free skiing/riding technique outside of the terrain park, and the other portion of the lesson will be focused on terrain park etiquette, freestyle safety using SMART style, small jump take-off and landing, sliding boxes and rails, etc.
 
90-Minute Session Times:
  • January:
    • Sundays: 9:30 AM (8-12 years) | 11:00 AM (Ages 13+) (January 5-19, 2025)
    • Wednesdays: 7:00 PM (8-12 years) (January 8-22, 2025)
  • February:
    • Sundays: 9:30 AM (8-12 years) | 11:00 AM (Ages 13+) (February 2-16, 2025)
    • Wednesdays: 7:00 PM (8-12 years) (February 5-19, 2025)
 
*Personal Ski or Snowboard equipment and helmets are required for the Freestyle Program. (Ski and Snowboard rental gear is not allowed in the terrain parks)

Race Programs

Introduction to Racing Program (6 Consecutive Weeks)
Available for children and adults ages 7+, who are intermediate to advanced skiers/riders and can comfortably make controlled turns down blue/intermediate terrain without stopping.
 
Intro to Race is a recreational program designed for both new racers who are interested in establishing their racing skills. Participants will improve their general skiing/riding ability, become more comfortable on a race course, and learn techniques used by PSIA/AASI and the US Ski Team. Training will consist of technical free skiing/riding with an instructor, as well as gate training.  With participants grouped by similar age and skill levels, racers may use this as a stepping stone from recreational into competitive racing.
 
*Participants must be at least 7 years old, able to ride chairlift by themselves and ski/ride intermediate terrain in control.
Race Program includes NASTAR Season Pass Program does not include lift ticket or equipment
 
2-Hour Session Times:
  • Mondays: 6:30 PM (January 6-February 10)
  • Wednesdays: 6:30 PM (January 8-February 12)

Advanced Race Program – (6 Consecutive Weeks)

Ages:  7+
Skill: Advanced Skiing/Snowboarding
Prerequisites: Must have participated in a race program or prior race experience
Equipment: Helmets are required
 
If you are well beyond recreational racing and looking for a path into, or advancement in the competitive realm, these are the programs for you! 
These programs target the higher-level racer who wants to become more proficient in the particular race disciplines of GS and Slalom.
 
Participants must be at least 7 years old, able to ride chairlift by themselves and ski/board intermediate terrain in control
Race Program includes NASTAR Season Pass Program does not include lift ticket or equipment
 
2-Hour Session Times:
  • Tuesdays: 6:30 PM (January 7-February 11)

Advanced Race Program – (6 Consecutive Weeks)

Ages:  7+
Skill: Advanced Skiing/Snowboarding
Prerequisites: Must have participated in a race program or prior race experience
Equipment: Helmets are required
 
For those wanting to make laps through the gates, this program is for you. Each week, GS or Slalom gates will be set and coaching will be provided.
These programs target the higher-level racer who wants to become more proficient in the particular race disciplines of GS and Slalom.
 
Participants must be at least 7 years old, able to ride chairlift by themselves and ski/board intermediate terrain in control
Race Program includes NASTAR Season Pass Program does not include lift ticket or equipment
 
2-Hour Session Times:
  • Wednesdays: 6:30 PM (January 8-February 12)

Children’s Lesson Program General Information:

  • Equipment: Helmets are strongly recommended for all Lesson Programs, and required for the Freestyle Program.
  • Children must be at least 4 years old by January 1, 2025 to participate in the Doodles lesson program.
  • Season Passes and rentals are not included with the Children’s Program and must be purchased separately.
  • Limited spots are available, so please register early. 
  • Ski or Snowboard Classes meet on your pre-selected day of the week.
  • Any missed lessons are forfeited – no make-ups are available. 

Perfect North Snow Sports School is a PSIA/AASI (Central Region) Education School.
