ADAPTIVE PROGRAMS
We’re here to enhance the lives of children and adults with disabilities and special needs through outdoor recreation.
This program enables individuals to develop new skills, build self-confidence and enjoy the sport of skiing and snowboarding in a safe, fun and positive environment.
Adaptive Snow Sports at Perfect North
We serve individuals with a wide array of disabilities including (but not limited to) vision and hearing impairments, amputees, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophies, birth defects, paralysis and cognitive disabilities. Your experience will be individually designed for your own personal experience.
As a vital part of Perfect North Slopes’ Snow Sports School, all of our Adaptive Instructors are specially trained and use the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) adaptive teaching techniques.
For safety reasons, all adaptive participants must meet the following guidelines to participate in the Adaptive Program:
Minimum Age: 4 Years Old
Sit Ski Program Weight Limit: 200 lbs
Physical Requirements: Must be able to hold head upright through rough terrain and breathe without using special equipment
It is strongly recommended that participants talk to their doctor to see if this is an appropriate program for their health.
The Adaptive instructors reserve the right to modify or adjust the lesson if the guidelines are not met.
